Oh, um, Hi.
I forgot to mention that I took a little escapade to Bocas with my boyfriend for a couple of days. Like 4. Yup. I am back, but my ass is sunburned and I have a million pics I need to upload plus some funny stories here and there. Other than that I am whole, relatively sane, and not all that tired. I go back to work tomorrow and just thinking about washing my hair and putting on stockings is sending shivers down my body (the bad shivers, the kind you get when you are throwing up your life into the toilet and your mouth is all saliva-y and you have that tingley feeling under your tongue that signalizes yet another barrage of puke coming your way, and throughout it all you are shivering uncontrollably though it`s hot as hell, yes, those).
Today is my birthday and I woke up with a sunburned butt and an overwhelming desire for a paleta (which I had, it was chocolate and yummy and not nearly enough for a quarter). I bought my mom some pretty BocatoreƱo stuff because although today is the day I was born I gotta give the woman props for birthing me. Bocas is the kind of place that sucks you in and before you know it you´ve had three kids with a local creole and you can´t remember your original name (because it damn well isn´t Pepper, no?). I am pretty sure it´s a vortex, maybe even an alien blackhole. Whatever, I don´t want to leave. I want to spend my days swinging from hammocks, maybe selling carne en palito from 9 to 1 p.m. and then take a 4 hour lunch break and then resume my work from 5 to 9p.m. (it makes sense afterall, because it is impossible to do anything from 12 to 3 because of the intense, oblitering, debilitating heat that pounds on you... speaking of which, thank GOD for air conditioned internet cafe´s). I am not ready to go home yet. I feel as though the hippie granola traveler in me has been awakened and wants to put on a pair of sneakers and go to every single corner of the Earth. Ah well, back to reality.
