My roomate has a kitten who is in the throes of teenagehood (if there is such a thing for cats). He's rebellious, holds grudges, attacks people playfully (and sometimes not so).
His latest trick is climbing out the living room window and taking a little walk on the roof outside. He knows how to jump back in through the window (we realized this after freaking out a couple of times that he was "stuck" when he really wasn't). There is a window in my room that is missing a screen, so it's basically open. I like to leave it open as well because it provides a very nice crosswind.
Yesterday morning at 5:52am the friggin cat clambered through my open window to land straight on my head. I've been trying to train him with a water spritzer (which I thankfully had at hand), so I sprayed him in the face and he jumped out. I thought that was the end of the story, but the damned cat proceeded to jump through my open window another two times (each time getting a spritz of water in the face or bum).
I need to sleep and having a cat barge through my window at 6am and waking me up is making me cranky. So I decided to forgo the nice crosswind and closed the window, leaving only a tiny sliver open. This morning at 6am, I heard a desperate scrambling and a thud. I couldn't help but smile a bit in my sleep. I had won this round but I knew that there were many more rounds to go.
